UC athletes and Cincy Reigns host surplus sale and canned goods drive to benefit local profits

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – University of Cincinnati athletes and Cincy Reigns Beer hosted a surplus clothing sale and canned food drive to benefit a local nonprofit that supports local communities.

The sale featured over 1,000 pieces of UC Under Armour clothing and proceeds benefited the nonprofit organization Impacting Tomorrow.

“They are great on the field and on the court, but they also make a difference off the field and off the court,” said Ken Tracy, founder of Impacting Tomorrow.

In addition to clothing, the athletes collected canned goods, signed autographs and distributed clothing.

“Being from Cincinnati, I care a lot more about the city. I just want to set a good example and try to give back in any way I can,” said Bearcats tight end Joe Royer.

Tracy says they involved the athletes to make an impact on the community.

“These athletes care about where they live and what they do, so they got involved with Impacting Tomorrow and made a difference in their community. That’s what I’m most proud of,” Tracy said.
