UFC fans were not happy about a major error in the broadcast of UFC 306 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Dana White hosted the event, dubbed “Noche UFC” in honor of Mexican Independence Day, the first sporting event held at the futuristic Sphere in Las Vegas.
The card featured seven fighters of Mexican descent, headlined by Alexa Grasso, who defended her women’s flyweight title against legend Valentina Shevchenko.
But beyond the spectacle in the Octagon, viewers were surprised by a major error in the broadcast of the event on Saturday night. With a host of stars from entertainment and sports in attendance – including Steve O, Jamal Murray, Bob Iger, Chris Brown, Andrew Schulz and Rey Mysterio – you could be forgiven for not recognizing a few famous faces.
However, ESPN confused undefeated world champion Terence Crawford with rapper Kendrick Lamar, which caused some anger and laughter among viewers at home.

Lamar is a multiple Grammy award-winning rapper who found great success in 2024 thanks to his public feud with Drake
The rapper was recently announced as the headliner for Super Bowl LIX on February 9th.
Fans were quick to react on social media, with one joking that the mistake was worth the firing.
“Calling Bud Crawford (Kendrick Lamar) is insane,” they wrote on X. “A dismissable offense.”
Crawford sat in the cage next to Saudi boxing great Turki Alalshikh.
The 36-year-old was sitting in the cage area of The Sphere rather than across the street at T-Mobile Arena, where his rival Canelo Alvarez won every round against Edgar Berlanga and defended his super middleweight world title.
And as the camera panned to Crawford and Alalshikh, the Saudi boss mouthed the words “Canelo” to the camera, seeming to indicate that he still hoped to make the big fight between the two happen next year.
