Preview of the Main Event

Suga Sean O’Malley (18-1-0, NC) will defend the 135-pound title for the second time after earning a dominant win over Marlon Vera in his last fight in February. The champion specializes in long-range strikes and has a wealth of skills in the ring. One small weakness appears to be his takedown defense.

This is the moment Merab Dvalishvili (17-4-0) has been waiting for. The grappling specialist is playing with the house money after rising through the ranks to earn this opportunity.

The two fighters exchanged verbal barbs in the run-up to the fight. O’Malley threatened to reopen the wounds on Dvalishvili’s face. The Georgian mixed martial artist called O’Malley’s trainer a “snake” for being disrespectful.

The co-main event could see the conclusion of the rivalry between women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso (16-3-1) and Valentina Shevchenko (23-4-1). Grasso won their first meeting in March by rear-naked choke. The two met again in September, but the match was ruled a draw despite a strong performance from Shevchenko. Who will finish this flyweight trilogy?
