Two Vrbo renters tried to play dumb after causing massive damage to a Wisconsin property – but ended up looking even dumber since they were being filmed the whole time.

Ashley Deutsch, the owner of the vacation home, said guests flooded the house by stuffing pizza into the sink and clogging the drain, then leaving the water running for hours.

“We can say we noticed,” one tenant says in the footage during a feeble attempt at cleanup.

Deutsch said about 640 gallons of flush water caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage and destroyed her home and the business below.

The video also showed images of wet sheets on the stairs and rolls of paper towels scattered haphazardly on the floor.

“With every step, water sprayed out of the ground,” the owner told CNN.

In Deutsch’s Ring camera footage, the destructive duo can be seen drinking beer and stumbling down the stairs.

Later in the video, tenants hurl soaked towels, bedding and rugs down the stairs in a reckless attempt to dry the flooding they caused.

The unsuspecting couple, unaware they are being recorded, can be heard giggling while simultaneously plotting how to cover up their role in the damage.

“At the moment we can say that we have noticed it,” said one of the tenants.

It was difficult for Deutsch to listen to the men engaging in such despicable intrigues.

The owner of the holiday home said the guests had deliberately flooded the house by leaving the water running for hours, wasting about 2,300 litres of water.

“It’s so frustrating listening to them try to make up lies to excuse their behavior while he wrings a towel with his feet,” said the heartbroken property owner.

The video also showed images of soaked sheets on the stairs and rolls of paper towels scattered randomly on the floor.

At around 4 a.m., Deutsch received the first notifications from the camera outside the door.

When she arrived at the property, she found it in utter chaos.

“The sink was clogged with pizza and other things they might have had for dinner,” Deutsch told CNN.

But the destruction was not limited to the Vrbo property. The apartment on the ground floor, a tattoo studio, was also badly damaged by the flood.

Jamie Princen opened her shop less than nine months ago, but now the small business owner has to remain closed for the foreseeable future while she tries to rebuild her tattoo studio.

“It was just soaked,” Princen said emotionally. “Hundreds of hours of work went into making this studio what it was, and when I saw all of this, it was just ripped away,” she said.

Since the property is in a desolate condition, Princen and Deutsch are now taking legal action.

But both women were forced to sell belongings to cover the cost of repairing the property.

During this ordeal, they relied on each other’s support.

“I think we will come back much stronger,” Princen said.
