Upcoming resurfacing of Broad Street and Salford Station Road

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans to resurface Broad Street (Route 611) and Salford Station Road. This work is part of a major project to repair and repave more than 200 miles of state roads in the Philadelphia region.

In Philadelphia, alternating lane closures will occur on Broad Street between Penn Square and Oregon Avenue from Tuesday, September 3rd through Friday, September 6th between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. for milling work. Additional closures are planned for Wednesday, September 4th through Friday, September 6th between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for preparatory work.

In Montgomery County, lane closures will occur on Salford Station Road. The closures are scheduled for Sunday, August 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and Monday, August 26th through Thursday, August 29th at the same time and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The closures will involve milling and paving work between Route 29 and Old Skippack Pike.

Motorists should expect longer travel times due to anticipated delays. The goal of the repaving projects is to seal roads, increase safety, and provide a more pleasant ride for commuters. All activities are dependent on favorable weather conditions. PennDOT continues to emphasize infrastructure improvements that improve the region’s transportation network.
