Another organization continues the fight against hunger and food shortages in the greater Trenton area.

The Urban Food Alliance (UFA), a leading nonprofit organization working to reduce food insecurity in the Trenton area, is hosting a free community meal and pantry event this Saturday, August 17, at noon.

This event highlights UFA’s ongoing mission to provide nutritious food and essential supplies to individuals and families facing food insecurity.

UFA’s innovative approach to addressing food insecurity goes beyond the typical food bank offering, providing both freshly prepared, nutritious meals and a selection of staples including pasta, bread, fresh vegetables and fruit. This dual strategy ensures that community members not only receive immediate food, but also have the means to prepare healthy meals at home.

UFA is committed to community action and collaborates with other local nonprofits to maximize positive impact on Trenton residents. These partnerships demonstrate the power and effectiveness of community-driven solutions in addressing the complex problem of food insecurity.

UFA believes that everyone deserves access to healthy, nutritious food. The organization’s goal is not only to alleviate hunger, but also to help our community live healthy and sustainable lives in the long term.

Organizers welcome anyone who would like a nutritious meal and offer the opportunity to stock up on essential supplies.

The UFA event marks the start of Hunger Action Month, which begins on September 1st.
