DENMARK, Tenn. (WMC) – U.S. Marshals officials on Monday captured a fugitive wanted for parole violation after he was discovered in a secret hiding place under a trailer in Madison County.

The U.S. Marshals Service says the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) issued an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Billy Lee Walton Jr. after he was allegedly caught driving under the influence and possessing drugs in June.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol charged Walton with reckless driving, violation of the Open Liquor License Prohibition Act, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended/revoked license, and manufacture/delivery/sale/possession of a controlled substance.

In September 2016, Walton was convicted of attempted rape in Hardeman County District Court. He received 12 years’ probation and was placed on the Tennessee state sex offender registry.

On Monday, the Task Force tracked Walton to the Jackson Mobile Village near Highway 70 in Denmark, Tennessee.

Assistant marshals and TDOC special agents found Walton hiding in a recess in the floor, accessible through a trapdoor hidden under a carpet.
