Usher deletes tweets after Diddy arrest, and P!nk follows

Singer Usher suddenly has deleted his posts on X over the weekend, and speculation revolved around his friendship with music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was arrested Tuesday after being charged with sex trafficking and organized crime.

Usher is not involved in any crimes. Combs has denied the charges and pleaded not guilty.

Usher’s friendship with Combs dates back to the 1990s, when he lived with Diddy for a year to learn the industry.

“I had the opportunity to look at some things. I went there to look at the lifestyle and I saw it. I don’t know if I could get into it and understand what I was even looking at,” Usher told Howard Stern in 2016. “I was curious. I just didn’t understand it. It was pretty wild. It was crazy.”

A representative for Usher did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Meanwhile, singer P!nk has deleted virtually all of her posts on X (formerly known as Twitter), with the exception of two reposts of other users’ tweets, one in 2017 and the other in 2016.

She is not involved in the Combs case. A spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The sudden disappearance of Usher and P!nk from X is also notable, as both are on tour. In contrast, superstar Jennifer Lopez, who dated Combs over 20 years ago, has not deleted her social media feed, although she has not publicly commented on his arrest.

The prosecution accuses him of having abused, threatened and coerced women over the years “in order to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation and cover up his behavior.”

The charges also threaten his various business ventures, estimated to be worth about $1 billion. Diddy has been in the business since 1990, when he started as an intern at Uptown Records in New York before founding his own record label, Bad Boy Records. He later expanded his business to include clothing, various alcohol and cannabis businesses, and acting.
