SALT LAKE CITY – The participation of star quarterback Cam Rising from the Utah Football Team has been officially confirmed shortly before the start of the Top 15 clash with Oklahoma State.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Rising’s status will not be official until kickoff.
“He’s a game-winner on Saturday at Oklahoma State,” Thamel said of Cam Rising during ESPN’s College Gameday live broadcast. “He injured his throwing hand, had some stitches taken out. He’s been practicing this week with a glove on his throwing hand.”

Cam Rising’s injury will continue to be a situation to monitor for Utah Football on Saturday
Rising suffered a finger and throwing hand injury in Week 2 against Baylor. He did not practice last week before the rivalry game against Utah State and did not play in that game.
Although he was training full-time at the beginning of the week, the rep distribution began to shift on Wednesday, with true freshman Isaac Wilson taking over a larger portion of the reps halfway through.
Given Rising’s throwing hand injury, it’s not just about pain management, but also about effectiveness.
If Rising misses a second straight week, Wilson will step in. He played great against Utah State, but the Utes will face a whole new beast at Boone Pickens Stadium.
