KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Vol Shop released a special t-shirt Thursday to honor a Vol fan who was killed in an accident involving a drunk driver.
Nolan Turner and his mother Courtney died in a car accident in October 2023.
His birthday fell on the third Saturday in September, the same weekend as the football rivalry games between Florida and Tennessee.
For his 11th birthday party, he and his sister made a “Go Vols” banner. His friends came over to watch the game and cheer on the Vols.
After the game, he hung the banner in his room, where it still hangs.
A month later, he and his mother died in the crash.
His classmates wore orange and white at his funeral to honor his love for Tennessee.
Now Vol Shop has designed a t-shirt that features the design of this banner.
“This is a cause that has been close to our hearts since we began working with the Turner family,” officials said. “We are proud to help solidify Nolan’s legacy and his love for the Tennessee Vols.”
Proceeds from the sale will go to the Nolan and Courtney Turner Memorial Fund.
