Walmart customers criticize the new store layout: “It doesn’t make sense” – and the aisles are now “a nightmare”

WALMART is currently renovating nearly 1,000 stores, and customers are not happy with the new store layout.

CEO Doug McMillon announced that 926 Walmart stores would be remodeled by early next year.

The stores will receive new layouts designed to simplify the shopping process.

The aim of the renovation is to offer customers more space to shop, but some are finding it difficult to get used to the changes.

Vi Qu, a regular customer at a Walmart in Salisbury, Maryland, said the aisles are always different because of construction.

They wrote in a Facebook post that they went on three trips to buy toilet paper and found it in a different place each time.

They said they had to “hunt” for items, especially in the cosmetics and hygiene departments, and navigating through them had become a “nightmare.”

“The layout no longer makes sense,” they said.

“It just doesn’t run smoothly anymore and instead of holding categories together, it seems random.”

They were so frustrated with the renovations that they considered moving to the other side of town.

In the comments, many residents expressed similar concerns. One customer said the Walmart store had become “sloppy and chaotic” since the renovation.

Customers said the nearby Fruitland location had also recently undergone renovations and experienced similar confusion.

‘We left,’ says Walmart customer after abandoning his shopping cart with over $300 worth of items – he was forced to shop at the retailer

“Fruitland’s renovation is complete, but it’s worse than before. The aisles are much smaller and offer less product/selection,” commented one shopper.

“Both have gotten worse since the renovation.”

Others agreed that doing business had become more complicated after the renovation.

MAJOR MAKEOVER

Walmart locations are being modernized with new designs, including furniture showrooms and the latest technology.

Shoppers can use Walmart Pay, the retailer’s new contactless payment app.

“We opened the store,” said John Furner, the company’s U.S. CEO.

“We are really proud of the results in apparel, home and beauty.”

These changes come after the business experienced a wave of store closures.

Most recently, Walmart closed two stores in Georgia on July 12. One in Dunwoody and the other in Marietta.

“This decision was not made lightly and was made only after a careful and thorough review process,” Walmart said in a press release.

“We have nearly 5,000 stores in the United States and unfortunately some are not meeting our financial expectations.

“Although our underlying business is strong, this store has not performed as well as we had hoped.”

Walmart also closed its stores in Wisconsin, California, Colorado, Maryland and Ohio.

A Walmart customer had to abandon a shopping cart full of $200 worth of groceries due to a self-checkout policy.

Another shopper told how she found a pair of jeans for only 50 cents.
