Walmart is The company is opening its logistics and fulfillment services to third-party sellers who want to fulfill orders from platforms outside of the retailer’s own marketplace, the company announced during the Let’s Grow! 2024 Walmart Marketplace Seller Summit Aug. 26-28 in San Francisco. Starting Sept. 10, Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) will now be available to sellers who want to use Walmart to fulfill all e-commerce retail orders, the company said.

“Walmart continues to leverage its next-generation supply chain and advanced technology to simplify and streamline order fulfillment for sellers and do so at the lowest prices in the industry,” the retail giant said in an Aug. 27 statement.

According to Finimize.com, this move means Walmart could redefine the e-commerce logistics landscape by offering an alternative to Amazon’s FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) service.

With a multi-channel solutions program, WFS will fulfill orders and handle returns, offering simple, unbranded packaging, express shipping and prices that are on average 15% lower than competitors. WFS will also offer a cross-border fulfillment service for Full container load transport with a focus on imports between Asia and the USA.

Walmart also announced that it is opening its carrier network to sellers for full truckloads. Sellers using the Walmart Preferred Carrier program through WFS can now choose to ship a few items or a full truckload at special rates using Walmart-vetted carriers, the company said.
