Walmart partners with Burger King to offer members food discounts and free Whoppers

STATEN ISLAND, NY – In a first-of-its-kind partnership, Walmart and Burger King have joined forces to introduce an exclusive dining benefit for Walmart+ members.

Those who subscribe to the Walmart+ service—a subscription that costs $98/year or $12.95/month—now receive 25% off any digital order at Burger King. And starting in September, members can get a free flame-grilled Whopper with every purchase every three months.

“Adding a Burger King benefit to our Walmart+ membership portfolio is exciting,” said Venessa Yates, senior vice president and general manager of Walmart+. “We always strive to offer benefits that are focused on our members and align with our commitment to providing undeniable value and convenience. We’re confident our members will welcome the additional savings, and we’re excited to partner with a trusted brand like Burger King to offer this benefit.”

This unique benefit is designed to save members time and money, Walmart explained, and “accommodates their busy lifestyles where grocery shopping, meal planning and cooking are not always possible.”

“Given that most Americans eat at fast-food restaurants several times a week, this benefit provides a convenient, cost-effective solution to accommodate food preferences and busy schedules while still enjoying the legendary taste of Burger King,” Walmart said in a press release.

HOW IT WORKS

Walmart+ members can redeem this benefit through the BK app or bk.com. To activate this benefit, Walmart+ members must link their membership to their existing Burger King Royal Perks account or create an account for free. Once linked, Walmart+ members can go to the Offers tab in the BK app or bk.com, select a participating Burger King location, add the desired offer to their cart and place their order.

“Burger King has long been known for offering guests high-quality products at a great value – an approach shared by our friends at Walmart, making this partnership a natural fit,” noted Pat O’Toole, chief marketing officer of Burger King North America, in the press release. “We are thrilled to join the Walmart+ program as the first dining partner and look forward to offering Walmart+ members even more savings on their favorite flame-grilled Burger King meals.”
