Walmart Supercenter in Monroe will be “completely remodeled”

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – If you’ve ever been to Walmart on Louisville Avenue, you may have noticed construction going on inside the store. As it turns out, customers can expect more construction over the course of the next few weeks.

In a press release, Walmart announced plans for a “major remodel” of the Monroe location.

Stacy Martin, store manager in Monroe, says the improvements will provide customers with a better shopping experience.

“Walmart has been part of the Monroe community for nearly 36 years and we are always looking for ways to better serve our customers,” Martin said. “By remodeling our current store, we can provide our customers with greater convenience and an improved shopping environment. We ask that customers be patient while work is underway to implement these improvements.”

So what exactly is being “improved”?

Walmart representatives said customers can expect the following improvements:

  • A freshly painted building inside and out
  • Additional aisles in the supermarket make it easier for customers to find their way around
  • Improvements in the service area of ​​the Auto Care Center
  • Improved parking lot with newly marked parking spaces and renewed landscaping
  • Expanded online grocery pickup area with additional aisles and improved lighting
  • Frontend improvements, including additional self-checkout lanes and manned checkout lanes
  • Completely renovated bathrooms, including modern fittings, with the addition of a new mother-child room
  • Increased product count in multiple departments including grocery, hardware, health and beauty, home, pets, pharmacy, sporting goods and more
  • New dollar section and grab & go lunch and deli items in the front of the store
  • New lighting and signage throughout the store make it easier for customers to find their way around
  • New shelves and substructures for improved store flow
  • A redesigned break room for branch employees
  • Redesigned optics center with larger selection of glasses frames
  • State-of-the-art electronics department with new interactive displays
  • Modernization of the delicatessen/bakery areas with a new oven and refrigerated counters as well as an expanded range of delicatessen/bakery products
  • Activated corners: Displays in the corners of certain departments
  • Increased departments: Ready-to-use displays to help shoppers see the product better
  • Digital touchpoints: New touchpoints will be set up throughout the store to present customers with the range of products and services offered online.
  • Walmart Payment: A contactless way to pay.

According to Walmart officials, construction will take several weeks to complete.
