This recall affects 8-ounce bottles sold in six-packs with the UPC number 0-78742-29655-5.

Recall details

The recall, designated F-1746-2024, was originally announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on August 15, 2024. Health risks associated with inorganic arsenic

Inorganic arsenic is a known carcinogen and poses significant health risks. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this form of arsenic is highly toxic and mainly contaminates drinking water. Long-term exposure to inorganic arsenic can lead to serious health problems, including skin diseases, bladder and lung cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Short-term exposure can cause nausea, vomiting, bruising, and numbness or burning in the extremities.

Differences between organic and inorganic arsenic

The main difference between organic and inorganic arsenic is their toxicity. Inorganic arsenic, commonly found in water and certain foods, is highly toxic and has been shown to cause cancer. In contrast, organic arsenic, found in seafood, is less harmful and does not pose the same risk.
