Chainswords at the ready: “Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2” is finally here!
Anyone who is unfamiliar with the Warhammer 40,000 gaming universe and its unstoppable advance to world domination has most likely not lived on planet Earth in the last few decades. Its hardcore science fiction origins have been firmly anchored in the popular realm of tabletop miniature wargames since its invention by British entertainment company Games Workshop in 1987.
Since then, Warhammer 40K has grown into a global phenomenon, outgrowing its humble beginnings as a basement game to include companion novels, comic books, special expansion sets and major video games, such as Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, which was released today (September 9) to great acclaim worldwide.
Developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, this dynamic sequel to Relic Entertainment’s 2011 third-person hack-and-slash shooter Warhammer 40K: Space Marine brings heated campaigns against the relentless alien Tyranids to all major gaming platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Check out the official synopsis:
“Continue the story of legendary Ultramarine Lieutenant Demetrian Titus one hundred years after the events of Space Marine, and battle the endless Tyranid swarms to defend the Imperium. Unleash Titus’ superhuman abilities and wide-ranging arsenal alone, or with up to two friends playing as Titus’ battle brothers Chairon and Gadriel in seamless drop-in/drop-out co-op.
“Fight as one of six playable classes (Tactical, Assault, Vanguard, Bulwark, Marksman and Heavy) in Operations (PvE) and Eternal War (PvP) modes and make them your own with Space Marine 2’s extensive armor and weapon customization system.”
This spirited sequel is full of multiplayer co-op gameplay and features an intense three-player Battle Brothers campaign mode, so recruit some brave friends to help you destroy those hellish insectoid enemies.
“As the story progresses, Titus will encounter challenges that he cannot overcome with just his two teammates, so he will be given command of smaller teams that he can send out to accomplish these other objectives,” Saber’s creative director Oliver Hollis-Leick explained in a recent interview with GameWatcher.
“But they’re not just ‘fire and forget.’ He stays in contact with them by radio during these missions, and so in the story campaign you hear these box conversations between Titus and the team,” Hollis-Leick added. “And then you go to the other side while playing that mission as these other team members, and you hear those same conversations from the other side.”
“Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2” is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
