Warning: Security changes at Ireland West Airport Knock next month – News

From 1 September 2024, due to changes in EU regulation, temporary restrictions on liquids will be reintroduced at airports in the EU, including Ireland West Airport Knock.

Ireland West Airport stated: “Under the European Commission’s new directive for EU airports, from 1 September passengers will not be allowed to carry liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGs) in containers larger than 100ml in their hand luggage through airport security. All liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGs) must be kept in containers of 100ml or less and in clear, transparent bags and removed from hand luggage before security screening. There is no limit to the number of plastic bags used per passenger.

“Exceptions continue to apply to important items over 100 ml, such as baby products, special diet products and medicines, which must also be stored in a transparent bag separate from liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGs).”

The airport added: “However, these new policies do not affect electronic devices such as laptops and phones, which can be left in your hand baggage when going through security at Ireland West Airport.”
