FARGO – North Dakota State returned home and took a 24-3 halftime lead over the Towson Tigers, but had to hold on to the visitors in the second half and won 41-24.
Redshirt freshman running back Marty Brown became the first Bison running back to rush for 100 yards in seven games, with Brown rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Senior quarterback Cam Miller was outstanding for the fourth straight game, completing 17 of 19 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown. Miller had a stretch where he completed the first 14 passes of the game.
Towson rallied in the fourth quarter after falling behind 31-10. The Tigers scored back-to-back touchdowns, including a 72-yard touchdown run by Tyrel Greene to cut the deficit to 31-24. The Bison scored the game’s final 10 points, including a touchdown by Brown with 1:04 left.
NDSU allowed more than 200 yards rushing for the second straight game, a problem that head coach Tim Polasek has yet to address.
