Shocking video footage of a group of patrons falling to their deaths has surfaced online, with the restaurant’s owners calling it fake.

The “Dinner in the Sky” restaurant is a novel idea where guests sit in a box and are then suspended from a crane. The video posted claims that a group of Saudi women fell to their deaths in Bahrain.

As the seat box is slowly lifted off the ground, a few sparks can be seen. And when it reaches its intended height, the belt system breaks and the entire seat collapses to the ground.

However, the owners deny the incident in its entirety. Ali bin Mohsen Al Faleej told GDN Online that the footage was “manipulated,” adding that a report in the Arabic daily Sabq had revealed that the restaurant in question was located in Morocco.

While many media houses are working hard to clarify the incident, some claim it happened in Bahrain, others claim it happened in Morocco and some even in Dubai.

However, a report in the Daily Mail says the tragedy occurred during the Dinner in the Sky crane ride in Dubai, but organizers insist the footage is fake.
