Does anyone still have a TiVo device? Are they still being manufactured?
Donald Trump praised the virtues of Tivo at his rally yesterday. He also likes fax machines and VCRs. Or Betamax. He listens to 8-track tapes in his car. He’s an old-school guy.
No one told Trump that DVR replaced Tivo a long time ago. He still “records” shows. He doesn’t realize that digitalization has replaced all that. “It’s the greatest invention!” he says of TiVo. He thinks it’s 2002.

Trump also has no idea what tariffs are. He told the crowd that tariffs “don’t affect this country.”
Um, Donald, that’s true. Tariffs raise the price of imported goods. But instead of stopping consumers from buying them, they raise prices, and so they impact U.S. consumers. They negatively impact economic growth.

Trump: I love the playback controls that exist today. It used to be called TiVo, now it’s TiVo – I think it’s the greatest invention ever. It’s better than television. pic.twitter.com/lOEZKGNDsh
