A first look at the production of Wizards of Waverly Place was shown during the premiere of Descendants: The Rise of Red on Disney Channel.

The Disney Branded Television series is scheduled to premiere later this year on Disney Channel and Disney+.

The post features behind-the-scenes moments with the show’s main cast, including David Henrie and Janice LeAnn Brown, as well as executive producer and guest star Selena Gomez. Fans of the series may also spot a familiar face: David DeLuise, who returns as a guest star in the role of Russo family patriarch Jerry Russo.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place follows adult Justin Russo, who has decided to live a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman, and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie home to seek help, Justin realizes he must brush up on his magical skills to mentor the apprentice wizard while also fulfilling his everyday duties – and securing the future of the wizarding world.

Cast: The series stars David Henrie (as Justin Russo), Janice LeAnn Brown (as Billie), Alkaio Thiele (as Roman Russo), Max Matenko (as Milo Russo), Taylor Cora (as Winter), and Mimi Gianopulos (as Giada Russo). Selena Gomez (as Alex Russo) will make a guest appearance in the first episode.
