In a ranking of convenience stores, shoppers gave Wawa high marks.

An annual ranking of the best places to shop in America includes five convenience stores, with Wawa ranking second in that group.

Newsweek And Statista have joined forces to evaluate the 200 best retail locations. Between February and March, 7,000 shoppers from 40 industries were surveyed, reports NACS Magazine.

The three to ten retailers with the highest scores in each category were recognized with the America’s Best Retailers 2024 award.

In the convenience store category, Buc-ee’s came in first with a score of 94.37. Wawa came in second with 90.86 points. Quik Trip came in third with 89.6 points. Sheetz came in fourth with a score of 88.9 and Love’s came in fifth with a score of 86.9.

Participants were asked how likely they were to recommend a retailer and gave opinions on prices, selection and atmosphere. Customer service and accessibility were also taken into account.

The evaluation was based 50 percent on the likelihood of recommendation and 50 percent on the evaluation of various criteria.

Companies listed in the ranking are characterized by outstanding shopping experiences that are well received by customers, according to Newsweek.

In 2020, Wawa ranked 2nd in the nation for Best Convenience Store by Food & Wine Magazine.
