Wawa will open its seventh gas station in Ocala next month.
Construction work on the new Wawa at 2277 SW Hwy 484 has intensified in recent months.
Ocala-News.com first reported on the new Wawa location in April. In February, Wawa opened its sixth location in the city along State Road 200.
Wawa opened its first three gas stations in Ocala simultaneously in 2019: 3601 E Silver Springs Boulevard, 1001 S Pine Avenue and 3312 W Silver Springs Boulevard.
A few weeks after opening its first three locations, Wawa opened its fourth location in Ocala at 4025 SW College Road.
The company opened its fifth location in Ocala at 3080 SE Maricamp Road in February 2020.
In addition to the locations Wawa has opened in Ocala, the company continues to open new gas stations throughout the region. These include locations in Belleview, The Villages, Leesburg and other cities in Marion, Sumter and Lake counties.
The newest Wawa is located in an area that has seen a steady number of new store openings over the past year.
Less than a mile from Wawa, a new SuperWash car wash opened its doors in late June.
In March, a food truck village opened and several large distribution centers in Florida Crossroads Commerce Park got tenants, including a Pepsi factory and a planned marijuana cultivation and production facility.
