At 6:27 a.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Bronx and Nassau County, effective Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
“In vulnerable areas near the shore, flooding up to 30 to 60 centimeters above ground is possible,” the weather service explains. “There is a possibility of further flooding along the coast, at least until the weekend.”
The weather service explains: “If you must travel, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around roadblocks or through waters of unknown depth. Take necessary steps to protect property at risk of flooding.”
