After finally filing for divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez appears to be going through the natural stages of separation grief. Step one: Accept the new reality of Ben-free birthdays and having to endure the regular sight of your ex’s new bachelor pad in LA. Step two: Post a few revenge selfies to show how “unbothered” you are. Step three: Have the inevitable “It’s not you, it’s Ben” conversation with your ex’s best friend – which apparently happened over the weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). In photos published by Page Six, Lopez and Matt Damon were seen holding hands and giving each other nostalgic glances at the after-party for Unstoppable. The film was produced by Damon and Affleck’s company Artists Equity, stars J.Lo and marks her first official red carpet appearance since filing for divorce in August.

Accordingly Peoplean eyewitness source claimed that J.Lo and Damon had a “long, deep conversation” that lasted more than 20 minutes. Damon, of course, grew up with J.Lo’s ex in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they were so close that they shared a bank account for video games and beer in high school. The film brothers later worked together on classics such as Hunting for good will, School tiesAnd Air and are still close friends. PeopleHowever, the source noted that the tone of the conversation between J.Lo and Damon wasn’t entirely somber. The two also sat next to each other giggling. You have to give it to J.Lo: She can at least laugh about this shitty divorce that’s been playing out in the tabloids for months!

Elsewhere in Unstoppable After the party, J.Lo was captured by The Hollywood Reporter She joked to co-star Bobby Carnevale that she was “bad at collecting” while wearing a Tamara Ralph dress that resembled a disco ball. Plus, the film received a standing ovation, so I’m counting that as a win for Jenny from the Block.
