It was an impressive start for Alabama First semester Ryan Williamsa 17-year-old phenomenon who has played two games in his career so far.

He analyzed Williams’ potential with Kaiden Smith of On3 on The On3 Roundtable.

“He reminds me of Mark Jackson in the NBA, always saying, ‘Mom, there’s this man,'” Watts said. “I mean, when you hear all about Ryan (Williams), you can’t get more hype about Ryan Williams. He’s got the Hollywood nickname early on. From a young age, he’s telling people he’s going to be the best wide receiver in the country. You know, at 17 years old. He skips a year. He should be a senior, going after his three-time Alabama Mr. Football title, the only one to do it twice, by the way.

“And this guy here is making big plays on a college campus. So, I mean, there’s not really enough pressure. I think the easiest way to put it is, Ryan (Williams) is who we thought he was. He’s a superstar. Some kids just shine brighter. Some guys just shine at a different level, he’s got talent. I mean, it’s not just his work ethic. He’s got hands, a catch radius. He’s fast. He’s very quick, very quick, just a lot, the complete package.”

In two games, Williams has six catches for 207 yards, three touchdowns and 34.5 yards per catch. Incredible numbers for his speed.

A member of the Class of 2024, Williams was a five-star recruit out of Saraland (Ala.) High according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that uses all four major recruiting media companies. He was the state’s second-best prospect, the class’s third-best wide receiver and the class’s fifth-best prospect.
