What the 49ers say about the Jets

What the 49ers say about the Jets

Warner about Hall: “Huge challenge. I think he’s one of the best backs in the league just watching him. I haven’t played against him yet, but he’s so dynamic. His ability to hit a home run with his speed, his cuts in and out of the box, I think that’s one of the best in the league. He’s going to be a huge challenge for us. We’ve got to pressure him, it’s not going to be a one-man show. We’ve got to pressure the football and I know they’re excited about the rookie they brought in as well, so we’ve got to make sure we do our jobs and play relentless football to have a chance to stop them.”

Warner on the game against the Jets QB against Rodgers: “We’ve had our battles over the years, man. I love facing Aaron. I’m glad to see him healthy again, so it’s going to be a great matchup.”

“He always has that instinct, right? The ability to extend plays, make the big plays, stay in control of the game and make plays in the crucial moments.”

49ers DC Nick Sorenson on Rodgers: “He’s seen it all. You have to be able to stay close to guys and he’s good when he’s got a good running game, so you always want to stop the run and then he has different elements based on that. If he trusts the receivers and has spent time with them, he can really pinpoint when he knows where they’re going to be. I think that’s the one thing he’s always really connected with someone on his team that’s really good. He can put the ball in a position like (Chiefs QB Patrick) Mahomes and (Chiefs TE Travis) Kelce have done. He’s had that his whole career. He’s confident, he’s got a confident arm. He’s strong. He can make any throw, he can see the field.”

49ers run game coordinator and OL coach Chris Forester on Jets All-Pro DT Quinnen Williams: “He’s got a great low center of gravity. He’s gotten bigger. Our guys were laughing the other day. His weight is listed as 303 pounds. I don’t think he’s 303 pounds anymore. That might have been his combine weight. But he’s a load and he plays with a great center of gravity. He plays with a lot of energy. He’s got explosiveness in his body. … He’s just one of those really strong and explosive guys that if you don’t take care of your business, you don’t recover quickly. He’s too strong and too powerful a guy, and that makes it hard to recover.”

Forester on new Jets DT Javon Kinlaw, who was drafted by the 49ers in 2020: “Great challenge. We get challenges every week and Javon is another crazy, great guy, great player. We’ve enjoyed the time with him here. We really respect him and the work he does. It’s going to be a great challenge for whoever has to block the guy. He can be as dominant a defensive lineman as we see. And from what we’ve heard, he’s had a great training camp and he’s ready to go. So we’ve obviously got a great challenge ahead of us.”
