Many fans are wondering when exactly Alien: Romulus takes place in Foreigner Timeline.

Alien: Romulus expands the franchise by diving deep into an unexplored place in the vast timeline of Foreigner Movies.

Directed by Fede Alvarez, the horror film’s plot revolves around six space colonizers who plan to steal strictly regulated equipment but instead encounter a horde of Xenomorphs.

Alien: Romulus takes place between 1979 Foreigner and 1986 Alienswhich takes place in the year 2142.

More specifically, this means that the events of the film directed by Cailee Spaeny take place 20 years after Foreigner and 37 years before the sequel.

During this time, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and the original Xenomorph that she threw out of the air shaft are still in stasis somewhere in space.

Alien: Romulus’ Its place in the timeline makes it a completely standalone entry, as 20 years provides plenty of room to develop additional stories that don’t interfere with the franchise’s Ripley-led narratives.

The 37 years between Alien: Romulus And Aliens are a long time for researching more of the tradition within the Foreigner Franchise.

To avoid spoilers: Alien: RomulusThe ending of The 40 Fingers already made a big twist by introducing a new concept that intrigued fans, and a potential sequel could delve even deeper into that theme.

Prometheus And Alien: Covenant are prequels that explore the origins of humanity and introduce the concept of engineers as the creators of humanity. It also tells how a synthetic human named David created early versions of alien species before eventually ending up with the Xenomorphs.

The timeline above does not include the two Alien vs Predator Movies (Alien vs Predator And Alien vs Predator: Requiem), as they are considered non-canon because the events in these films contradict what has been established in the rest of the franchise.
