Tom Brady’s highly anticipated commentary debut took place on Sunday when he officially became a member of Fox’s premier NFL commentary team.

And not surprisingly, one of the greatest players in NFL history did not disappoint with his expertise as he commentated on the Cowboys’ game against the Browns alongside Kevin Burkhardt, Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi.

But as Brady breaks down the Xs and Os in his new role, curiosity has risen (as it usually does around draft and combine time) about where Brady attended college — before He became one of the most successful players in NFL history.

Where did Tom Brady play college football?

Brady played college football at Michigan from 1996 to 1999.

The San Mateo, California native played sparingly in his first two years in Ann Arbor, serving as the backup to Brian Griese. In those two seasons, Brady completed 15 of 20 passes for 129 yards and one interception.

As a starter in 1998, Brady completed nearly 61.1% of his passes and threw for a career-high 2,636 yards, in addition to 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Brady followed with a senior season in 1999 in which he threw for 2,586 yards and 20 touchdowns, leading the Wolverines to a 10-2 record.

In each of his two seasons as Michigan’s starter, Brady led the Wolverines to two wins in bowl games. The first was against Arkansas in the 1999 Citrus Bowl. He then led Michigan to a win against No. 5 Alabama in the 2000 Orange Bowl. Brady finished his two seasons as Michigan’s starter with an overall record of 19-6 (12-4 in Big Ten play).
