Where to dine, play and shop for a perfect day in Kenwood

Kenwood may be best known for its annual Fourth of July horse races in the summer, but the small town also offers a mix of fine dining and classic tasting rooms (Landmark and Kenwood Vineyards), as well as trailheads for great hikes.

Scroll below to read about what to do in Kenwood and where to eat, drink and shop.

What to do

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is a national park with a population of 1,000 and is located 1,750 m above sea level.

The short, shaded waterfall trail is a great spot for a summer afternoon; more exposed ridge hikes are stunning, but best done early in the morning or late in the day. 2605 Adobe Canyon Road, 707-833-5712, sugarloafpark.org

Kenwood has two less-trafficked park entrances that are popular with trail runners and mountain bikers – one on Schultz Road and one with parking on Lawndale Road. The trails lead uphill to Ledson Marsh. 707-539-3911, parks.ca.gov
