CLEVELAND, Ohio — Where can I find the best breakfast in the Cleveland area? We knew there would be favorites from our readers, but none of us knew how passionate you would be about it.

Your Best of Cleveland team asked us for your picks and you did not disappoint. We received nearly 500 nominations for the favorite breakfast spots in the Greater Cleveland area.

These are the places where you’ll beg for bacon, snap for pancakes, sizzle for sausages, and dig for eggs and omelets. Maybe they have Bloody Marys and Mimosas? A great cup of bottomless coffee? Or maybe they have something you haven’t seen anywhere else and have fallen in love with?

This is all we have seen in the responses so far. If yours is not there, what are you waiting for? Send us a nomination (and quickly) because the nomination window is closing Saturday, August 17 at 5 p.m.

Then continue Tuesday, August 20A survey will be conducted based on the number of nominations for the best establishments. Then the fun really begins. You vote for the best of the best and we will be watching the hot frying pan of home cooking with great interest.

You have until Saturday, August 17, 5 p.m.Please limit your nominations to local establishments (yes, that includes local micro-chains), but please avoid national chains.

We’ll record all of your recommendations and create a poll where you can vote for the best places across the country to enjoy the best breakfast. Once all the votes are in, your Best of Cleveland team will hit the road to test your winners and tell you the stories behind your top three hotspots.
