The entire defense deserved a better fate Friday night, but especially Robinson, who had a career game. The fifth-year senior was a force at the point of attack with six tackles, a career-best 3.5 stops for loss, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble
Lost in UNLV’s collapse was the fact that Kansas still rushed for 199 yards and 5.7 yards per carry. Foster was a big reason for that, earning a PFF grade of 79.7, the highest for a Jayhawk in Week 3. He has been a great addition since coming to Lawrence from Texas A&M.
Wheeler is hitting his stride in his second season as a Jayhawk. The well-traveled captain led the team with 19 tackles and three stops in the Week 2 loss to Illinois.
Even without much help from the passing attack, Neal continues to be a rock-solid workhorse, opening the season with three consecutive 100-yard games and rushing for 120 yards on 23 carries against the Rebels.
Dotson is making money off his play this season. He’s been a stunner in coverage and has moved ahead of Cobee Bryant as the Jayhawks’ top NFL prospect in 2025. In the loss to UNLV, Matt Sluka completed just 7 of 18 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown, the first TD pass Kansas has allowed this season.
