Foo Fighter singer Dave Grohl has asked his wife and children for forgiveness on Instagram after announcing the news that he had had a daughter out of wedlock.
The 55-year-old did not reveal any details about who the mother of his newborn was or when she was born. He posted a text message to his 1.4 million followers, where he disabled the comment function. It read in full:
“I recently became the father of a daughter born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her. I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We are grateful for your consideration of all the children involved as we move forward together. Dave.”

Dave and Jordyn Blum have been married since 2003, when they tied the knot at their Los Angeles home in August. Jordyn, 48, is a former model and the couple met in 2001 when she was a producer at MTV and eventually met Dave at work, according to Spin.

Their second daughter, Harper Willow, was born three years later in 2009. Dave shared the news, saying she was “7lbs, 19in long and loud as hell.”
And then, five years later, they welcomed their third daughter, Ophelia Saint, who was born in August 2014.
The family’s last public appearance together was at the 2023 Grammy Awards, where everyone walked the red carpet in matching outfits.
