Well, the Saturday Night Live Alum isn’t the only one wondering whether the defending champion in the Outstanding Comedy Series category and winner of 10 other Emmys this year (so far the night isn’t over yet!) is actually a comedy.
Even Emmy presenter Eugene Levymoderates the event with son Daniel Levyhad fun with the sometimes lacking laugh factor of the FX show.
“The bear is nominated for 23 Emmys tonight, making it the most nominated comedy in history,” Schitt’s Creek Alum noted during her opening monologue. “Well, I love the show and I know some of you might be expecting us to make a joke about whether The bear is really a comedy.”
“But,” he added, “in the true spirit of The bearwe will not joke.”
Newman, however, Is the only one whose daughter Hannah Einbinderplays the lead role in a show that The bear in many of these comedy categories. (Your opinion on Nepo babies? “Always present,” Einbinder joked to interview in May. “Here to stay.”)
