Woman arrested in connection with sale of Graceland estate

The late Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate has reportedly been saved from an elaborate real estate scam. Rolling StoneThe former home of the “Hound Dog” singer, which is now a museum, is said to have fallen victim to a woman from Missouri.

The station’s report said Lisa Jeanine Findley (also known by other aliases such as Lisa Holden) was arrested by federal authorities on August 16 on charges of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft.

In a statement, Assistant Attorney General Nicole M. Argentieri, chief of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, explained Findley’s alleged actions. “It allegedly involved a scheme to defraud the family of Elvis Presley of millions of dollars and steal the family’s ownership interest in Graceland,” the memo said.

Family members include Presley’s granddaughter, actress Riley Keough (daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough), who inherited the property.

“As part of the brazen scheme, we allege that the defendant created numerous false documents and attempted to extort compensation from the Presley family,” Argentieri said. “Now she faces indictment in federal court. The Criminal Division and its partners are determined to bring the fraudsters to justice.”

Rolling Stone Findley, through her companies Naussany Investments and Private Lending LLC, filed a lien on the property, citing a fraudulent $3.8 million loan allegedly made to Lisa Marie Presley that used the sprawling property as collateral.

Findley is accused of using a bogus creditor demand in Los Angeles and forging a trust deed in Memphis. He then allegedly filed a foreclosure notice in The commercial appeal (a Memphis newspaper), ahead of an auction scheduled for May 23.

In addition to the Justice Department’s investigation, the FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service have initiated their own investigations into Findley’s alleged actions.

If Lisa Jeanine Findley is convicted of these charges, she could face up to 20 years in prison.
