Woman fell to her knees after incredible $15 discovery in thrift store

Woman fell to her knees after incredible discovery in thrift store

A woman was completely stunned when she made the discovery of a lifetime in a second-hand store.

TikTok user @luckygirlthrift regularly scours vintage and thrift stores for the best finds, and although she has found incredible bargains before, a recent discovery left her in “shock.”

In a clip she shared on her account on August 9, she filmed herself looking through the racks of clothes and then stopping at a stunning denim jacket.

At first she was impressed by the “details” on the jacket, but then she realized something that, in her own words, made her “fall to her knees.”

“I took a closer look and realized it wasn’t just any denim jacket,” she captioned the video.

The TikToker then zoomed in on the sewn-on label on the inside of the denim and revealed that it was a Jean Paul Gaultier jacket.

As if by chance, she tried it on and it fit perfectly – and it cost her $15.

For comparison, the same jacket is available on Jean Paul Gaultier’s website for $860. Similar products also cost several hundred dollars, and a denim and shearling jacket costs a whopping $1,860.

The French fashion designer’s pieces have been worn by some of the world’s biggest celebrities, most notably Madonna, whose iconic cone bra was designed by Gaultier himself.

The TikToker wrote in the caption of her video: “Honestly still shocked. WHO would donate this?”

The video garnered 379,000 likes in just a few days, with one commenter joking, “You’re on my loot list.”

“Seriously a lucky girl from saving,” wrote one user, referring to the lucky shopper’s username, while another declared, “You won the lottery.”

“I would have died,” someone else admitted dramatically.

The secondhand market has exploded in popularity in recent years, partly due to concerns about fast fashion and the introduction of online marketplaces such as Vinted and Depop.

In 2023, the global market value for secondhand and resale clothing was around $197 billion and is expected to grow by another $100 billion by 2026, according to Statista.

User @luckygirlthrift regularly shares her finds online and has wowed TikTok commenters in the past after discovering items from the likes of JNCO and Vivienne Tam.
