This suggests that the woman’s body remained unexplained for five hours.

After the shocking discovery, the area was declared a crime scene.

As the Chicago Tribune reported, it is now in the hands of the Chicago police.

An investigation has been launched.

Yahoo reported that a source said: “The woman was a member of the public, but it remained unclear how she died.”

ABC 7 added that authorities confirmed that the part of the airport the woman entered was only accessible to employees.

It is unclear why she was in the designated area, which is “considered safe but not a high-security area.”

According to reports, the affected area of the international terminal consists of numerous conveyor belts that transport baggage to and from the aircraft.

Luggage left in this area also undergoes the appropriate customs controls.

Following the death, the police have not yet provided any information as to whether they were able to track the deceased woman’s movements after she entered the restricted area.

On the day of his death, there was a large number of rescue workers at the terminal at around 9 a.m.

The woman’s identity is not yet publicly known and the reason for her presence at the airport has not been disclosed.
