Worker collapsed at gas station in Elmhurst: Police

ELMHURST, IL — An employee was on duty at the Shell gas station at 654 W. North Ave. Wednesday night, but there was a problem, police said.

The employee was found slumped on the chair behind the cash register at around 8 p.m., police said. The man told officers that he had been drinking and had fallen asleep.

Shortly afterwards, the branch manager arrived and asked the employee to clock out for the evening, police said.

  • A resident in the 100 block of East Elmhurst Avenue reported to police Wednesday that he saw several key marks on his car. The investigation is ongoing.

Improper conduct

  • A woman told police that her manager grabbed her throat and put both hands on her chair at around noon Wednesday at the Edward-Elmhurst Health Center, 172 E. Schiller St. Police called it a disturbance.

Shoplifting

  • A woman stole two bags of merchandise from Mariano’s, 678 N. York St., around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing. The woman was described as Hispanic and was wearing a gray baseball cap, gray T-shirt, dark leggings and dark shoes.

Medicines

  • A man lying in a stairwell knocked on his neighbor’s door and claimed to have been shot in the 100 block of Fellows Court around 7 a.m. Monday. The man had no injuries and admitted to using drugs. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. Police listed the case as drug possession. Charges are pending.

theft

  • A red Schwinn mountain bike was stolen while unattended from Chipotle Mexican Grill, 139 N. York St., around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
