Xbox 360 player makes incredible discovery in charity shop

Xbox 360 player makes incredible discovery in charity shop

Highlights

  • The limited availability of licensed games like Saw 2 leads to rising prices and makes them a valuable find for gamers.
  • One lucky player found a copy of the game for a fraction of the online price.

A Xbox360 Player found a copy of Saw 2 cheap at a second hand store, which is notable because the game usually costs more online than it does at launch. The Xbox 360 is one of the most popular video game consoles of all time, and for good reason. The Xbox 360 has an incredible library of games, although these are now much harder to access.

Microsoft recently shut down the Xbox 360 Marketplace, making it much harder for fans to get their hands on certain games. While backwards compatible Xbox 360 games are still available, many other titles have been lost in the digital vacuum. As a result, prices for used Xbox 360 games have started to rise.

A lucky Xbox 360 fan finds and purchases a rare console with a classic nostalgic dashboard for a very reasonable price.

However, some Xbox 360 games were rare/expensive long before the digital market closed. Licensed games often increase in price years after their release because they are not usually available digitally, as other games and the popularity of their IP ensure that there is always at least some interest in them. This is the case with the Saw 2 Video game released in 2010 that received scathing reviews. While professional critics were not impressed by Saw 2: Flesh and Bloodit is still one of the more expensive physical 360 titles on the market, selling for over $70 on sites like eBay. However, Reddit user edvvnn has found a copy of Saw 2 on Xbox 360 in a charity shop for just £1.50. It’s an absolute bargain, of course.

The first Seen Video game is also quite expensive, on eBay it is offered for 40 to 60 dollars, although it seems to be not as rare as its sequel. Both Xbox 360 Seen Games are survival horror games with an emphasis on puzzles as players must survive jigsaw traps. The games are set in the same universe as the Seen film series, but instead of adapting the films, original stories are told that show what certain characters were up to between the events depicted in the films.

The Seen Video games are far from the only licensed 360 games that have become more expensive over the years. Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The official game of the movie has also skyrocketed in price. King Kong became more expensive after delisting, and the fact that it is playable on modern Xbox consoles may also play a role in the price increase.
