Last year, American Football bought the iconic house on the cover of LP1 with the help of Chris Strong, Atiba Jefferson, Open House Contemporary, and their label Polyvinyl. Since then, they’ve operated a pop-up shop in their home in Urbana, IL, and now they’re enabling older emos to live out their dream even further.

For only $360 CAD per night (more or less depending on the dates you choose), you can sleep for at least three nights in the same house that caused your teenage depression. It’s like your childhood home, but with a lot more of a scene feel.

“Welcome to the historic West Urbana neighborhood of Urbana, Illinois!” the Airbnb ad reads. “Whether you’re here to be inspired by the musical origins of our 131-year-old home or to enjoy the quiet comfort of a tree-lined brick street, the American Football House offers a unique and unforgettable stay.”

It continues:

In 1999, local artist and 704 W. High St. resident Chris Strong photographed the front facade of the house. Later that year, local band American Football used the photo as the cover of their debut album. In the 25 years since American Football’s album was released, this nondescript house has become a monument not only to the band, but to every fan who heard their epochal album, which enshrined its picturesque exterior as an iconic image of the Midwest. A carved “X” once marked the spot on the sidewalk where Strong stood to take the original photo, and where fans of the band themselves have stood to recreate it ever since.

The news comes about a month after American Football teased new music. They haven’t said anything else about it so far, but they will be honored on an upcoming covers album by artists like Ethel Cain and Iron & Wine.
