A young woman was fatally stabbed early Sunday morning after reports of an altercation with a man in a train station car park in West Sussex.
Police have now arrested a 26-year-old man from Crawley on suspicion of murder, who remains in custody.
Metro reports that officers were called to Station Way around 7:10 a.m. following an “altercation.”
After a search near Crawley train station, officers found the victim, who had been stabbed multiple times.
Paramedics treated the woman on site, but unfortunately her death was confirmed a short time later.

Officers arrested the man on Stephenson Road, about a mile from Station Way.
Superintendent Rachel Swinney said police were not looking for anyone else.
She said: “This is a tragic incident in which a young woman has lost her life and we are working hard to find out exactly what happened.”

Police confirmed that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident following the arrest of the 26-year-old man.
“Officers were able to quickly arrest a suspect, and we are not currently looking for anyone else.”
“There will now be an increased police presence in this busy area of Crawley while we carry out our investigation.”
“I would urge anyone with concerns to speak to a local officer.”
