Zachary Quinto’s dramatic skills also extend to his fashion editorial shoots.

For almost two decades, the 47-year-old actor has fascinated audiences with his multi-layered and atmospheric performances in projects such as Heroinesfour seasons of American Horror Storyand as the legendary Spock in the three most recent Star Trek Movies.

Quinto is just days away from his latest appearance as the lead in the new NBC medical series. Brilliant minds.

As part of the show’s marketing push, Quinto showcases his fashion prowess in a stunning new editorial in which he does his best to portray Naomi Campbell and licks looks like a supermodel.

On the track for PhotoBook, shot by queer photographer Mike Ruiz, Quinto slithers around in a series of disgusting couture suits to the sounds of John “JC” Carr’s “He’s Dead,” a remix of the seminal 1979 Bauhaus gothic rock anthem “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.”

Watch Quinto exude sensuality with every movement, look and pose:

In the accompanying interview, Quinto talked about how he is often mistaken for his aloof characters and that he wants everyone to know that he is working on being less intimidating.

“I think people often think I’m intimidating or aloof because I’ve played a lot of characters, and sometimes I don’t really care,” he said.

“But the truth is: My goal in life is to go through the world openly and as gently and casually as possible. I really love life – not that people think I don’t – but I think people think I’m more intense than I am.”

But Intense can definitely sell the clothes!

In Brilliant mindsQuinto plays the openly gay character Dr. Oliver Wolf, based on the influential British neurologist Dr. Oliver Sacks.

The Penny Marshall film from 1990 awakeningstarring Robin Williams is based on Sacks’ 1973 memoir of the same name. Sacks, who was celibate for 35 years, came out as gay in his 2015 memoir. On the road: A lifewhich was published shortly before his death at the age of 82.

Quinto is now grateful to have been able to play an openly gay character on a primetime show – a big deal even by today’s standards.

“I am deeply grateful for this experience of being able to tell these stories and to use Oliver Sacks’ life as a starting point for these stories. Oliver Sacks was someone who was deeply shaped by the times in which he came of age and by the societal restrictions that made it impossible for people to fully live who they were. That’s why he didn’t come out until much later in life,” Quinto said previously.

“To play a character who embraces that aspect of herself in the modern world in a way that is vital, contemporary and forward-looking is really something special.”

Brilliant minds Premieres Monday, September 23rd at 10pm on NBC.
